The yogurt giant is expanding into plant-based meals and snacks with its acquisition of Daily Harvest
Daily Harvest has been scooped up by Chobani, as the food company expands beyond yogurt and creamer and demand for better-for-you foods grows.
Chobani announced on social media that the deal marks its entry into “wholesome, ready-to-make meals,” calling it “the next step in our journey to make good food for all.” Last month, the yogurt leader announced a $1.2 billion investment to build a third U.S. dairy processing plant in upstate New York.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
For Daily Harvest’s part, the healthy meal company – which attracted early investors Gwyneth Paltrow and Bobby Flay – recently partnered with Parsley Health, a digital healthcare company, to produce a line of longevity-supporting food and drinks featuring plant antioxidants.

In 2023, Daily Harvest entered its first retail partnership, expanding into the frozen section of over 1,100 Kroger grocery stores nationwide. The announcement came almost a year after the plant-based company conducted two rounds of layoffs and navigated a highly-publicized lentil crisis that resulted in hospitalizations and illness from its French Lentil + Leek Crumbles. Last year, the meal company expanded its retail presence by entering Target stores.
In addition to frozen foods, Daily Harvest offers organic smoothies, breakfast bowls, savory meals, snackable bites, and a Protein Shop featuring organic pea protein powder and protein smoothies.

“Today we are thrilled to announce that we are joining the Chobani family! At Daily Harvest, we have always been driven by our belief that everyone deserves health, nourishment and happy outcomes,” the plant-based company posted on social media. “With Chobani, we are united by a shared vision: to make high-quality, delicious food with real ingredients more accessible. We could not imagine a better home for our incredible brand and are so excited to begin this next chapter.”
