Led by fan-favorite instructors, the new community initiative kicks off June 4 in New York City with pace groups for all levels
Peloton is lacing up for Global Running Day with a new initiative that moves beyond the screen and onto the streets.
The connected fitness giant will launch its first-ever Peloton Run Club on Wednesday, June 4, out of its Peloton Studios New York (PSNY) location. The debut marks the brand’s latest push into real-world community building, this time targeting runners with a free 5K along the Hudson River Greenway.
Open to all experience levels, the event will be led by Peloton instructors Alex Karwoski and Matt Wilpers, with designated pace groups designed to support everyone from first-time 5K runners to marathon veterans. Participants will start and end their run at PSNY, with a post-run social featuring refreshments on the plaza level.
Check-in begins at 6:00 p.m., with the run starting at 6:30 p.m. Runners can enter PSNY through the plaza level, across from Daily Provisions and near Moynihan Train Hall.
Following Global Running Day, PSNY Run Club events will occur on a monthly basis, Peloton says. To register and learn more, visit the event page or follow @onepeloton and @pelotonstudios on social media.

Elsewhere in Peloton’s orbit, its New York studios are undergoing a major tech and content refresh this summer as part of a broader evolution led by chief content officer Jen Cotter. The revamp includes a series of phased upgrades, including swapping out 30 studio cameras for new 4K-capable models.
In a recent interview with Athletech News, Cotter alluded to such events like its Run Club.
“We’re going to do a lot more events outside the studio,” Cotter said. “A lot more gathering of our community to make the definition of connecting with Peloton not so specific to just sitting in the classes.”
Running has emerged as a go-to outlet for active individuals seeking both physical challenge and a sense of community. For those running to compete, new findings from Strava reveal a powerful edge to training with others: runners who trained with friends were far less likely to “bonk” (hit the wall) during endurance events.
