The popular probiotics maker aims to educate consumers and healthcare providers about the latest research in gut microbiome science
Probiotics maker Pendulum Therapeutics is hosting its first-ever virtual Next Gen Gut Health Summit, an event featuring executives, doctors and gut microbiome experts.
Set for May 14, the virtual event is open to consumers and healthcare providers interested in learning more about how the gut microbiome and novel probiotic strains can impact overall health.
Pendulum co-founder and CEO Colleen Cutcliffe will give opening remarks, followed by Pendulum’s chief medical officer Dr. Adam Perlman, who will present on “Leveraging the Gut Microbiome in Exercise and Performance.”
An expert in integrative and functional medicine, Dr. Perlman will explore the emerging science connecting the gut microbiome to physical performance and recovery, including energy metabolism, inflammation, endurance and overall fitness outcomes. The session will draw on cutting-edge research and clinical insights, with an eye toward how fitness professionals and wellness enthusiasts can apply gut microbiome findings in practice.
Other speakers include experts like Dr. Will Cole, Dr. Carrie Jones, Ashley Koff, and Dr. Susan Lovelle.
“Pendulum Therapeutics is proud to host our inaugural Virtual Gut Health Summit on May 14 – a first-of-its-kind event dedicated to advancing awareness around the vital role of the gut microbiome in human health,” Pendulum’s vice president of healthcare marketing Megan Landrum, MS, RD, tells Athletech News.
“This engaging and educational experience will feature leading experts in the field, (who) will explore the science behind keystone strains and how they can help optimize health, enhance performance and accelerate recovery,” Landrum adds. “Whether you’re a health enthusiast, practitioner or simply curious about the power of the microbiome in athletic performance, this summit offers valuable insights you won’t want to miss.”
Cutcliffe, a PhD, spoke at LongevityFest 2024 in Las Vegas, where gut health emerged as one of the festival’s key themes.

Founded in 2012, Pendulum has burst onto the scene in recent years as one of the leading supplement companies in the fast-growing probiotic and gut health market, which is projected to grow to $106 billion by 2029, up from $71 billion in 2024.
Pendulum offers supplements including a daily five-strain probiotic as well as products designed to naturally boost GLP-1 production and help with glucose control.
The company notably added Halle Berry to its team as chief communications officer in 2023; Berry is also an investor in Pendulum.
