Supergut, Ka’Chava Enter Target Stores

While Sprouts continues to add better-for-you products and wellness brands to its shelves, Target —which began the year declaring that it would add over 1,000 wellness products to its stores — recently added Ka’Chava and Supergut to its retail offerings.

Supergut, a GLP-1 alternative nutrition brand that has seen sales more than triple over the last year, has found a home at Target to sell its full line of prebiotic superfoods for $29.99, which includes its Gut Healthy GLP-1 Booster, Prebiotic Bars and Prebiotic Shakes. 

In September, Ka’Chava also entered Target stores nationwide, marking the superfood brand’s first brick-and-mortar retail location and offering its all-in-one nutrition shake to a broader audience within Target’s sports nutrition aisles.

Available in seven-serving bags, Ka’Chava shakes are available in Target in five flavors, including Matcha, Coconut Açaí and Chai, retailing for $34.99.

Dark Horse Rowing, an online platform for rowing enthusiasts, has announced the return of Rowvember 2024, a global, month-long rowing challenge.

The event kicks off on November 1 and invites rowing fans of all fitness levels to test their limits as they build community. All that is required is dedication and access to a rowing machine.

JetSet Pilates Gears Up for 10+ Studios in NY, NJ & CT

The Pilates franchise has just opened the doors to its first NYC location in SoHo, with additional JetSet Pilates studios coming soon to Gramercy and Boerum Hill

Miami-based JetSet Pilates has opened its first studio in New York City, settling into the iconic SoHo neighborhood as it embarks on its expansion strategy.

The modern reformer Pilates franchise confirms it has secured four development deals in the New York and Northern New Jersey areas, with plans to open more than ten studios in the region, including Long Island and Connecticut. JetSet Pilates studios are also in the works for Gramercy and Boerum Hill, which the boutique fitness franchise says are coming soon.

A grand opening event is planned for the new SoHo studio at 355 W. Broadway on October 20.

“Opening in SoHo is not just a geographic expansion—it’s a defining moment for JetSet as we bring our unique approach to Pilates to the epicenter of global trends in fashion, fitness and culture,” JetSet founder and brand president Tamara Galinsky said. “We are thrilled to introduce JetSet’s transformative fitness experience to New York’s dynamic clientele, further solidifying our brand’s position in the luxury wellness space.”

Behind JetSet’s SoHo studio is Goli Soli, a NASM-certified personal trainer who first fell in love with the brand as a student and then as an instructor. Soli told ATN over the summer that after the SoHo launch, she plans to open additional studios over the next few years.

Bert Albertse, JetSet Pilates CEO, noted that New York represents an unparalleled opportunity for the Pilates brand to establish a foothold in one of the most competitive fitness markets.

“Pilates may seem like a crowded space, however, I see a renaissance and reinvention of reformer Pilates as a modern method that attracts so many and not just an elite few,” Galinsky told Athletech News in an interview earlier this year. “Reformer Pilates is still in the early stages of its growth phase within the market. Experts forecast the Pilates market to reach $277 billion by 2028, which is huge growth from 2022 when the market size was around $150 billion.”

Galinsky added that potential and current franchisees are attracted to JetSet Pilates’ brand for its luxury feel, dedicated instructors and sense of community.

Eudemonia Launches as Star-Studded Health and Wellness Event 

Coming to West Palm Beach next month, Eudēmonia will feature doctors, social media stars and celebrity personal trainers

A new wellness event is coming to South Florida, and it’s got the makings of something big. 

Sean Hoess, co-founder of the popular yoga-based festival Wanderlust, is launching Eudēmonia, a health and well-being summit featuring some of the biggest names in longevity, medicine and fitness all together under one roof. 

To be held in West Palm Beach from November 1-3, Eudēmonia will feature over 200 sessions across three days, with science-based talks on health and longevity from speakers including Andrew Huberman, PhD, Mark Hyman, MD, and Gabrielle Lyon, DO.

Celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels and YouTube star Adriene Mishler will lead in-person workouts, while popular figures like Dan Harris and Bryan Johnson will present sessions on meditation and longevity, respectively. SoulCycle is set to stage several workout classes. 

In all, Eudēmonia will offer over 200 sessions across three days, with 100 wellness brands activating on-site including Function Health, AG1, Seed and Parsley Health. Among many experiences, attendees can receive on-site biometric testing from Basecamp and Function Health, and then consult experts for help decoding their results. 

“My goal is to build the South by Southwest of well-being in the heart of West Palm Beach,” Hoess tells Athletech News of his vision for Eudēmonia.

A Different Type of Wellness Event

Eudēmonia, a Greek word that can be roughly translated as “life well lived,” gives a good overview of Hoess’ idea for the summit, which is designed around five elements: movement, nourishment, mental optimization, restoration and connection.

According to Hoess, who co-founded Wanderlust in 2009 and helped grow it into one of the world’s biggest experiential wellness brands, there’s big demand for an event that combines all the different aspects of health and wellness, from the science of longevity to meditation to working out, into one weekend.

“What I’ve noticed with events, and actually businesses in general, is that there’s sort of a Zeitgeist moment when it’s right for (them) to happen,” he says, pointing to the rise of wellness podcasters like Huberman and Peter Attia, along with Americans’ increased interest in preventive health following the COVID-19 pandemic. 

“I started to notice the interconnection between various things – the people talking about their metabolic health were the same people who were working out or who were interested in certain diets. All of this stuff started to interrelate,” Hoess adds. “I think there’s an opportunity to do something a little more high-minded that’s not just on a particular area of health or a certain fitness modality, but that actually brings it all together under the viewpoint of functional medicine or holistic health.”

Tickets for Eudēmonia have only been on sale for a few months,  but organizers are expecting over 3,000 people at next month’s event, which will be held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center and adjoining Hilton West Palm Beach hotel.

The majority of attendees will be between 40 and 60 years old, but Eudēmonia is also seeing interest from medical students and pre-med students, groups it’s recruiting through scholarship programs and other initiatives. 

Leading With Science

Eudēmonia will feature plenty of fun – Mishler, a Youtuber with over 12 million followers on her “Yoga With Adriene” channel, will perform an in-person version of her popular online workouts while guests can engage in cold plunges, sound baths and a silent disco dance. 

But Hoess is quick to point out that the Eudēmonia is, above all else, a place for serious, science-based discussions on health and wellness. He envisions the weekend as an open forum where leading scientists, doctors and entrepreneurs can discuss key issues before an educated and receptive audience. 

Sessions include “Creating Good Energy: Reverse Chronic Disease by Mastering Metabolic Function,” “AI & The Future Of Personalized Medicine,” and “Immunometabolism: GroundBreaking New Research for Brain Health,” which should give some sense of the content on offer for the weekend. 

“We take the lecture part seriously; we do want people to walk away having absolutely learned something,” Hoess says. “At the same time, we want people to be able to unwind, have fun and dance, go to a sauna or check out a new machine.”

South Florida as a Wellness Capital?

Wanderlust became one of the world’s biggest wellness festivals, staging multiple events annually in countries around the globe. For the foreseeable future at least, Hoess will take a more measured approach with his new venture. 

Eudēmonia won’t be expanding to new territories anytime soon. Instead, organizers will focus on making it a can’t-miss health and well-being event, held once per year in South Florida. 

If all goes well next month, Eudēmonia will return to West Palm Beach in 2025, but on an even bigger scale. 

“I want to see an in-person experience where people have their minds blown,” Hoess says. “It’s got to be a transformational experience, where people (leave) and they’re buzzing, and they’re going back to their communities talking about it.”

Gatorade fans can now create one-of-a-kind Squeeze Bottles following the sport drink giant’s collaboration with Adobe Firefly

Gatorade is tapping into the power of generative AI in collaboration with Adobe Firefly, so athletes and fans of the sports performance brand can create personalized Gatorade Squeeze Bottles.

The interactive experience begins on Gatorade iD, Gatorade’s free membership platform. Users can select free AI ideas to create a design or choose to type their own ideas into a search box (such as Pilates, weightlifting, basketball, etc.). Both options allow users to select a pattern “vibe” and a color palette. Users are given two free AI-inspired design generations for being a Gatorade iD member and will be charged 200 points for each subsequent bottle generation after their two complimentary credits.
